Founded in 2019 by dedicated individuals led by Major Md Adnan Nabin (Retd), Barishal Grammar School and College follows the curriculum outlined by the Primary and Higher Education Board in Bangladesh, presented in both English version and Bangla mediums. The institution’s primary objective is to deliver high-quality education to the community.
Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, morals, beliefs, and habits. Educational methods include teaching, training, storytelling, discussion and directed research. Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators; however, learners can also educate themselves. Education can take place in formal or informal settings, and any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be considered educational. The methodology of teaching is called pedagogy.
The student body at this School and College primarily comprises individuals from well-educated family backgrounds, with a primary goal of pursuing advanced education in esteemed institutions both domestically and internationally. A noteworthy achievement is the commendable performance of our students in Ordinary Level and Advanced Level Examinations. Some of these high-achieving students go on to apply to distinguished schools and colleges worldwide, and a select few are awarded full scholarships to pursue their studies at Barishal Grammar School and College.
From its establishment, our commitment has been to cultivate a deliberate and gradual advancement in class levels. This strategy has proven to be fruitful in fostering institutional development. Our confidence in this cautious approach stems from its success in allowing us to thoroughly evaluate, contemplate, and chart our future trajectory, mitigating the pitfalls associated with impromptu and rapid expansion. Consequently, this deliberate pace has led to a well-rounded, systematic, and organized progression, enhancing various school facilities, including administrative buildings, science and computer laboratories, among others.
Implementing a methodical and precisely outlined expansion strategy has been instrumental in fostering positive relationships among the staff, students, and the broader community at Barishal Grammar School and College.
Currently, the institution operates across various locations, offering classes from Playgroup to Grade Twelve. As part of our future initiatives, we intend to construct dedicated school facilities on our own land in Barishal, Bangladesh.
At Barishal Grammar School and College, we gauge our institutional growth by the consistent success of our students in Ordinary and Advanced Level Examinations each year. This achievement serves as a testament to the effectiveness of our approach.
Presently, Barishal Grammar School and College anticipates a future marked by continuous and uninterrupted expansion, aspiring to serve as an exemplar of an institution that has withstood the challenges of time and emerged resilient through the years.
History
Formal education is commonly divided formally into stages such as preschool or kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and then college, university, or apprenticeship. In most regions, education is compulsory up to a certain age.
There are movements for education reforms, such as for improving quality and efficiency of education towards relevance in students’ lives and efficient problem-solving in modern or future society at large, or for evidence-based education methodologies. A right to education has been recognized by some governments and the United Nations.[a] Global initiatives aim at achieving the Sustainable Development Goal 4, which promotes quality education for all.
